Our next Event! Spring Fling 2008 Sunday May 4, 2008
Rain Date Sunday May 11, 2008
Spring Fling 2008 Event Information Hopefully
everyone has survived our long cold and snowy Midwestern Winter and is ready to
break out their ATVs for the upcoming riding season! The MBAC has a number
of major changes for our 2008 season. So please take a couple minutes to look
over the following information. The core membership
of the MBAC has decided to only hold one event in 2008. There are number of
issues that will need to be addressed before the MBAC can return to have two
event in 2009. The MBAC would like
to remind our participants without the support of our sponsors, this event would
never happen. Please remember when it comes time to purchase a new ATV,
accessories or services for your motor sport needs that you choose the sponsors
that help support area events and clubs.
New Downloadable Release
forms for Under 18 Participants!
As a reminder the MBAC still requires both
parents to be present at registration to sign the necessary release forms in
front of one of our members. The MBAC may also request parents to show ID
confirming their signature(s). With the number of under age 18 participants
growing we have found ourselves at greater risk and must take the necessary
precautions to protect both our Event and the MBAC. Parents can still fill out
the release forms prior to race day. We only require the signature portion be
signed at event time. If one or both under age 18 participant’s parents will not
be able to attend our event, we still request a signed and notarized release
form be presented at registration. Under age 18 participants are required to
have a separate release form for each of the 4 events in which they are
participating. We now have a new easier release form that can be downloaded
here: New Release Form Our insurance providers will now allow us to both
copy and Fax release forms if needed. You can e-mail or call us with your
address and if needed we will mail out or Fax the requested number of release
forms ASAP! Please plan ahead and have your release forms ready to avoid running
out of time before the event.
For the Spring Fling the MBAC
has made a number changes to our list of Dirt Drag Classes. Our hope is to stay
with the main reason we started our event over 9 years ago, with the Trail Rider
in mind. Over the years we have see this event and the sport change in many
ways. The number of race only ATVs has grown and the manufactures themselves
have developed more performance minded ATVs. The changes made in our class list
will hopefully bridge the gap between the rider and racer.
With the confusion for some
of our younger participants the decision was made to allow our Dirt Drag Class
#1 (0-50cc 2 & 4 Stroke ATV) to run the full 300’ instead of 150’ as in the
past. This decision should not affect the over all run time of our event because
we will not need to reset the track sensors after that class.
Due to the increase cost to
operate our event for the first time in the history of the MBAC we have found
ourselves at a point that we must increase the fees for our Dirt Drags. The
entry fee for your first class in our Drags will now be $20.00. Your second
class entry fee with the same ATV will remaining at $10.00 as in the past.
The core members of the MBAC
have decided that full stock exhaust systems including spark arresters and
closed air boxes will be required to participate in our Stock listed Classes,
even if you are bumping up into a larger displacement Stock class. It has
become apparent that allowing non-spark arrested exhaust and open air boxes in
our Stock classes has open the flood gates to those participants who feel the
need to run modified ATVs in our Stock Classes to win a $18.00 trophy. A new
class description of Trail Mod was developed to help close the gap between our
racer and rider participants. This class is much like our old Mod. Classes, but
does not allow lowering of the ATV. Our new listed Mod. Classes now allow
extended swing arms to be run for those racer/riders that have invested enough
time and money in their more race orientated ATVs. With the even higher number
of 450 production ATVs on the market the MBAC has decided to move the 450 ATVs
into classes of their own. Our hope is to open the doors for the return of the
500 to 700cc ATVs to the past 450 dominated classes. We have also separated our
Open Classes into 2 and 4 stroke to help level out the playing field. For those
heavy hitters looking to go for the gold we have a new Open High Roller Class
with a $50.00 entry fee with an 80% payback winner take all!
The New Dirt Drag Classes and
class descriptions are located on this site in the Event Detail link.
You may also request a copy of
both though the mail by sending us your home address either to our e-mail
addresses
atv4ever@ticon.net. OMF Off-Road
Challenge
The MBAC will offer the standard courses along with an
Advance Off-Road Challenge Course as we did for our past events. You must be 16
years or older and anyone under 18 years old must have a release form filled out
and signed by both parents to participate in the advance course.
If the MBAC feels that at
anytime a rider maybe under sized for a machine, or may not be able to handle
the machine effectively, the rider may not be allowed to participate in any
event.
As with our Dirt Drags the
MBAC has increased it fees for the standard Off-Road Course. Fees will be
increased by $5.00 bring the cost of a single run to $10.00 and the cost for 3
runs to $15.00. This increase will only affect the regular Off-Road Course.
Once again OMF has come on
board to be the full sponsor of our Off-Road Challenge. OMF has again promised
to provide us with a number of $100.00 gift certificate to be awarded to the
winners of Advance Off-Road Course. I am assured that Todd and his crew will
make their Advance course memorable! Latest
Update for the Advance Off-Road Challenge Jim Kane the winner of
both the Spring Fling and Fudd Run of 2007 Utility Class in our Advance Off-
Road Course has donated back both his OMF Gift Certificates for a $100.00 each
to the Advance Course. Which now puts the total amount of certificates at
$400.00. Todd and his Off-Road Challenge crew would like Jim for his donation
and look forward to seeing him at our possible future events.
Jim also participated in our Dirt Drags on his
Super Mod 4x4 Polaris pictures below. Mud Bog
The Fees, Classes and rules will remain the same for the
MBAC Monster Mud Bog as they were for our Fudd Run 2007. First and
Second Place winners will once
again receive cash paybacks with third to receive a trophy. Peewee Classes will
remain the same with trophies for all three places.
The Side-by-Side Double
Elimination Mud Drags have also returned for 2008. With cash paybacks and third
place trophies.
Registration times for the
Bogs have been changed and will be from 8:00am to 11:00am, with Bogs starting at
11:30am. Terminator ATV

at our event. Please obey all of our Event Area Rules or you will be asked to

either from the DNR or local law enforcement.
We have no changes yet in
the under age 12 participating in a race event on an ATV (DNR rule). Meaning
that you should remember to alter your Minis to be wider then 48” for under age
12 racers. You can alter your Minis either with a pool floaties or by some other
means. The MBAC will not require you to alter your child’s ATV, but should the
DNR issue you a ticket or fine you will be responsible for paying those fines. Want to win a
New Mini ATV?
The Thursday Noon Optimist
group that provides the food at our events are raffling off a new 90cc 4-stroke
CVT Adly Moto. Tickets cost $5.00 for one or 5 for $20.00 and can be purchased
the day of the event or at

Janesville. There will only be 800 tickets sold. The winning ticket will be
drawn on Sunday May 18 2008 at Janesville

The
Future of this Event is still in your Hands!
The MBAC is seeking your help to keep our event going
and growing. We are in need of manpower to help prepare and run our events. If
you would like to earn race credits or receive a free event T-shirt, you can
come out and help us get ready for our Spring Fling 2008 Event. Any volunteer
that participates in one 3 to 5 hour work day and also volunteers and helps for
at least 3 hours on event day will be considered a core member and will have a
voice and vote on future MBAC issues. Please make sure to contact a MBAC member
on the days that you volunteer to log your time and have your name and address
added to our core member list.
The MBAC workdays are as follows:
Saturday April 19th
(Fencing along with Event Grounds clean up)
Sunday April 20th
(Finishing up fencing if needed and grounds work)
Saturday April 26th
(Grounds work)
Sunday April 27th
(Make up rain date for grounds work if needed)
Saturday May 3rd (Grounds
work and final readiness for our event)
Sunday May 4th
(Event day)
If you are unable to attend any of our workdays you can still
help keep our event going. The MBAC is asking all of our participants to help
locate more sponsors for our events. The MBAC has sent out sponsorship
information to all of the dealers and shops in the state line area. We have
made a number of calls to these dealers and shops, but have not received much
response. We feel with your help we can encourage these potential new sponsors
our event is worth investing in. Please take the time to stop by your local ATV
& Motorcycle dealers and shops, and see if they are a part of the event that you
enjoy and use your OHV. If they are already sponsoring our events, thank them
and let them know you appreciate their support! If a dealer or shop owner has
not received sponsorship information from the MBAC they can contact us through
any of the numbers or E-mails below. A few minutes at your local dealer could
make all the difference in the future of our events!
